Bilingual System – Spanish Curriculum with bilingual teaching in English

International School Peñíscola follows the Spanish educational system with English as the language of instruction. This allows pupils to develop a high level of competence in English.

It is during the Primary Education stage when our pupils achieve linguistic competence and function naturally in English.

In the Primary Education Stage (6-12 years), the educational programme is developed in an environment where English is the vehicular language for half of the school curriculum, as well as in common areas, playgrounds and the school canteen hall. The 50% immersion in English is complemented by Spanish, Valencian and French languages, which complete the linguistic programme of this stage. Additionally, we offer the possibility of participating in English linguistic immersion camps such as the “English Integration Week“.

In Primary, pupils work on skills related to oral expression and comprehension, reading, writing and calculation. It is the time when work and study habits are consolidated. Furthermore, it is the moment when children between 6 and 12 years develop their personality and social skills. For all these reasons, at ISP, we promote pupils in their intellectual, social, physical and emotional development, fostering values such as responsibility, effort and solidarity, in a welcoming, safe and family-like environment, with excellent facilities.

We combine our educational experience with innovative, active and participatory methodologies together with the promotion of technological tools.

We carry out sustainability and healthy habits projects, both at stage level and at school level, which enrich the educational experience among pupils and also improve coexistence.

As a private bilingual school with personalised education, we distinguish ourselves by offering genuine individualised attention, adapting the teaching-learning process to the characteristics of each pupil. The teaching team guides and supports the pupils at all times. In addition, we have the support of the Psychopedagogical Attention and Guidance Office (GAOP) in charge of addressing diversity and educational inclusion, with the aim of ensuring equal opportunities for all pupils.

Communication between teachers, pupils and families is constant and fluid. With the aim of optimising the teaching-learning process, we use the Alexia platform, a tool that integrates academic-administrative management, facilitates the school’s relationship with the entire educational community and promotes communication through its various functionalities.
