Natural Learning in Two Languages from Early Childhood
At International School Peniscola a unique educational environment has been created in which children acquire English naturally while following the Spanish curriculum. Our methodology allows each child to develop a solid bilingual competence from their earliest years, when linguistic absorption capacity is at its highest.
As a private school with language immersion in early childhood education, we implement our language learning pyramid. This innovative approach provides greater exposure to English during the initial stages when children absorb the language with amazing naturalness, gradually reducing immersion hours as they reach the necessary proficiency.
For our students aged 3 to 6 years old, we provide an educational environment where 75% language immersion is in English, complemented with specific sessions in Spanish that guarantee the correct learning of reading and writing in the Spanish language.
INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGY
As a school with over 45 years of educational experience in early childhood education, we have developed a methodology specially designed for children aged 1 to 7 to learn English naturally and enjoyably.
We base learning on meaningful experiences that connect with their interests, using interactive materials that stimulate all their senses. We create activities that awaken their natural curiosity and incorporate adapted STEM projects that introduce concepts of science, technology, engineering and mathematics whilst encouraging critical thinking from an early age. This comprehensive approach ensures that language is acquired in a fluid and meaningful way.

The little ones participate in age-appropriate environmental projects and enjoy shared experiences with children from other educational stages that broaden their social perspective. All of this allows them to develop holistically as individuals in an atmosphere of safety and confidence.
FAMILY COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
We build an educational community where families actively participate in learning. Through our Alexia platform, we offer daily monitoring and share resources to continue bilingual learning at home. We maintain close and transparent communication, with educators always available to address enquiries. We encourage the participation of parents through workshops and shared projects, because when family and school work together, each child reaches their full potential.
In the final year of Early Childhood Education, pupils begin to demonstrate spontaneous communication in English, showing not only mastery of the language, but also growing confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
