Sustainability

International School Peñíscola, whose facilities are certified energy efficient type B, develops concrete actions to promote environmental and social sustainability:

  • Our school implements an annual interdisciplinary project that involves all educational stages and the entire school community.
  • Thus, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda are integrated into our educational program.
  • We encourage the active participation of students, teachers and families in environmental initiatives.
  • To promote shared responsibility through practical hands-on activities that enhance sustainable habits.

As a successful private bilingual school, we understand that sustainability is a fundamental cornerstone in the overall education of our students. Our educational approach:

  • Is cross-cutting: integrates sustainability in all subjects.
  • It is flexible: it adapts to the environment’s needs and opportunities.
  • It is inclusive: it involves the entire educational community.
  • It is practical: it encourages concrete and measurable actions.

This commitment to sustainability reflects our responsibility in the training of conscious and active citizens in the protection of the environment and sustainable social development.

At our school, we are committed to building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future. As a part of our ongoing efforts to protect the environment, we have installed photovoltaic panels, an initiative that not only promotes energy self-consumption, but also allows us to generate our own electricity in an efficient, and eco-friendly way.

This project is part of the Next Generation Self-Consumption Plan, funded by the European Union, and it enables us to move toward a more sustainable, responsible educational community, fully engaged in energy savings and reducing our carbon footprint.

We believe that environmental education begins by setting an example. That’s why this initiative also aims to raise our students’ awareness about the importance of renewable energy and responsible consumption. Together, we are building a greener present for the generations to come.
